Located across Sweden, our 10 local groups form a network of like-minded engineers and play a crucial role in our work. During 2022-23, our local chapter in Uppsala has worked both with developing the team and organizing various activities. Here are parts of their activity report from the past year:

ANNUAL SUMMARY 2022-23

This year has been successful in so many ways and our group has achieved a lot. We have been more active within our social media which has resulted in a higher number of followers. We have also participated in different events within the university which has led to visibility and a further reach to students. By now, EWB-SWE and the important work we do is known among students. The attendance during our events has also been higher than we expected, something we are really grateful for. Last but not least, as a group we have worked a lot with group dynamics, goals, structure and new ways to work together which has been a huge success.

General
The Uppsala group has during the year worked on a lot of important areas. We have worked with goals, both personal goals for each person in the leading group and also common goals for the whole leading group. We also implemented some changes such as the HR role being combined with the Vice group leader role. The second thing we adjusted was that we had implemented two Heads of PR and every committee (Inspire Youth and The Reflective Engineer) had one PR representative. We were also very active in our social media, creating awareness about EWB-SWE on the campus and doing classroom visits, which resulted in people actually knowing who we are and we had a huge reach. The result of the reach was a huge increase in followers both on Instagram and Facebook.
Last but not least we had 2 events with our partner Sandvik which were very successful. This is very important in order to have a continued good relationship with our partners.

Active volunteers and total volunteer hours
We had 22 volunteers engaged and the total volunteer hours were as much as 1230, which is a great achievement, clearly showing the commitment the volunteers have.

Events
During the year we had 4 big and 5 smaller events for university students, where two of the events were in partnership with Sandvik - EWB-SWE's main partner since 2017. We held 4 events for youth students (Inspire Youth) and arranged 120 hours of study aid for them as well.

Active international projects
We were active in 3 different international projects - Tanzania, Ghana and Bangladesh. And we had a total of 7 volunteers involved in the various projects.

Social media
Our goal was to be more active with our social media and to reach more students. The result was an increase in followers both on Instagram and Facebook. Our Instagram page increased with around 70+ new followers and our Facebook page increased with around 14 new followers.

Cooperations
We had 4 cooperations with 3 different organizations at Uppsala University. The cooperations were mostly for events and we do think corporations l are crucial in order to spread our name as well as increase our network.

Internal events
We had in total 8 internal group events and the result is that we as a group worked together better and in a smoother way.
